CoCo B's in SPIN Magazine!?!?!?!?!!!?!

It's been awhile since we posted anything CoCo B's related, so.... We found out the other day we're currently featured in SPIN Magazine's June 2008 issue under the section "Songs You Need to Download Now!" Our song, "Give Up the Money (1982)", has a little write up next to our CoCo B's family photo pic. Stay tuned... We've got some other interesting things in the works as well.

The Helio Sequence | Keep Your Eyes Ahead

Even though the latest Helio Sequence album came out a few months ago in January, it hasn't left the CoCo B's player in quite some time. The atmosphere and sound FX really put the songs over the top. RIYL: Bob Dylan, Modest Mouse, Brian Eno, Arcade Fire. You can listen to some of the songs from their album on our Basement Songs Mix #2 below:

R.E.M | Radio Free Europe | Letterman 1983

R.E.M. performed two songs, Radio Free Europe and So. Central Rain, on David Letterman in October of 1983 when their album "Murmur" came out. Wow! Letterman holds up the biggest Compact Disc (CD) ever seen. Pretty great performances and a little interview before So. Central Rain where Peter Buck talks about some of the other bands from Athens, Georgia, including Pylon. The Pylon stuff is really pretty good. They recently released a new record on James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem's record label DFA Records.

Death Cab for Cutie | Narrow Stairs | 05/13/08

The good folks over at Welikeit.indie posted a new documentary titled "Open Windows" on the making of Death Cab for Cutie's new album "Narrow Stairs," pretty interesting stuff. The album comes out tomorrow, Tuesday - 05/13/08, and the early reviews are indicating a definite departure from previous albums. It seems if you like Death Cab for Cutie already, then you'll probably love this album. And if your a hater, then I guess you can continue hating.

1973 | Very Superstitious | Writing's on the Wall

Check out the kid at the top of the stairs headbangin' like there's no tomorrow. Nothing short of amazing, Stevie Wonder and the band are tearin' it up on the set of Sesame Street in 1973.

NO AGE | NOUNS | MAY 6, 2008

The Los Angeles band No Age is about to release their new album "Nouns" on Sub Pop this coming Tuesday, May 6. It's really freakin' good.... and interesting. I guess if you combine My Bloody Valentine with maybe a bit of seBADoh's experimental punk-bits you can kind of get an idea of what it sounds like. Or you can head over to their Myspace site and stream the whole album for free.
