Lilys "Claire Hates Me" | Happy New Year
I've been totally addicted to the song, "Claire Hates Me," by Lilys for the past couple of weeks. You can download it at Stereogum by clicking here. Not sure how it initially fell under my radar as I was pretty obsessed with the EP A Brief History of Amazing Letdowns when it first came out years ago. Is there even a better noisy guitar pop song than "Ginger"? RIYL: Ride, My Bloody Valentine, Swirlies, Beach Boys
On a Coco B's note, we're going to be writing one more song and then it's full steam ahead to add the bells and whistles and get it all mixed down for public consumption. Can't wait to get it done, sit back and listen to what we've been doing for the last year or so.

This has been my favorite song for, oh, 17 years or so. I am amazed that there are no covers of it to speak of. Perhaps you can remedy that?
Hi Jay,
Yeah you might be onto something... I've always wanted to record a cover and why not Ginger, damn I love that song.

Now, if you covered Nanny in Manhattan that would be something...I so wish the album with that song wasn't out of print.
Hi Amalea,
After I saw your comment it reminded me I have Nanny in Manhattan on 7" and so I had to give it a listen... sooooo good.

Totally off the Lilys track...but on the beat of thinking how great older albums are...
I can't believe Henry's Dress is playing a show at the end of March. Bust 'em green was such a great album and they were one of the great '90s live groups.
When are you (CoCo B's) guys playing live again? I've been meaning to see you.
Yeah I think it's kinda cool there's like a Slumberland revival happening right now. Boyracer, Lilys, Henry's Dress, etc.... good times.
We/CoCo B's are putting the finishing touches on our next full length record and we'll probably be playing some shows this summer.
