The Joy Formidable | Whirring

I've never really been a huge fan of 3 piece guitar bands, but Joy Formidable makes it sound fresher and different than most. Or, maybe this is just one well-crafted song.

XX | Islands

I've been addicted to this song by The XX for quite some time now, so when I noticed a video had become available I just had to share it with you guys. I haven't really spent too much time with the rest of the songs on their debut album yet, but this track is definitely a standout so far.

Handsome Furs | Indie Asia: Ep.5

Sorry for being a bit late in posting this episode (5) of Handsome Furs' adventures in Asia, specifically Hong Kong in this episode. Damn, I've been a bit behind on things lately... Still working on getting CoCo B's songs cleaned up and along with a whole slew of other stuff, hopefully the (CoCo B's) album will be available in the coming months.

Health | USA Boys

Los Angeles based band Health have just released an album of remixes from their previous LP, but one song is a brand new original titled "USA Boys." I'm really digging this new song and the direction these guys are heading. See below for an MP3 of the track via Pitchfork:

The Willowz | Everyone

I stumbled on this video awhile back and have become fairly intrigued by The Willowz. My first encounter with them was when we crossed paths in Anaheim, CA a few years ago at our previous rehearsal studio. It wasn't in a good neighborhood and let's just say whoever broke Jeff's car window and stole his bass amp, we'd appreciate it if you return it. Anyways, I've really grown to like these guys and they remind me of how I wish Kings of Leon's early albums would sound.

Ariel Pink | Round and Round

I didn't know too much about the Los Angeles based band Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, but I just kept hearing "Round and Round" on satellite radio and thought I'd share. Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti's new album is coming out on June 8 and they'll be playing Coachella this wknd. Click on the above (>) play button to listen.

Broken Social Scene | Forgiveness Rock Record

A lot of Broken Social Scene teasers are currently circulating the net right now and I thought I'd contribute to the teasing. The above video was shot at South by Southwest this year and contains an interview with the band about the making of Forgiveness Rock Record. Jonsi (of Sigur Ros) | New Album "Go"

If you're the kind of Sigur Ros fan that finds them essential, inspiring and uplifting, then you'll probably fall pretty hard for Jonsi's debut solo album being released tomorrow. Fluttering electronics make their way in and out of the arrangements' mini-symphonies, you can imagine the large expansive land of Iceland upon repeat listens. It is by no stretch of the imagination that Jonsi wears Iceland on his sleeve. Check out the first video from the album above, you can also stream the whole album below.
